Happy Father's Day
We are also so thankful for our dads! They have made a lasting impact on our lives and we are who we are today because of their influence in our lives. We both have wonderful fathers and so we feel beyond blessed this Father's Day.
Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there!
Happenings in Myrtle Beach
This has been a busy week on Summer Link. For one week during Summer Link our staff and also Generation Link Staff from Clemson come down for a seminary class. Some take the class for credit towards their degree and others just audit the class. For the last 3 summers Dr. Schemm has come down from Southeastern Seminary to teach the class. This year he taught on the Trinity and I heard great things from all the students about the class. Jeremy and I always enjoy time with him and his wife, Vicki. They have 8 children and are a great example to us. This year they had 7 of their children and a babysitter with them. I enjoyed getting time with Vicki by the pool and our husbands were kind enough to give Vicki, Abbey (their babysitter) and I a dinner date one night together. It was great having them here! The first couple pictures are at the pool with the Schemm kids...

Amy, Don & Scarlet came in this past Thursday night for a visit. Amy had to leave on Saturday and Don & Scarlet will be here for a few more days. It was fun getting time with Amy since we don't see her much over the summer. The kids love time with their Aunt Amy! Here they are at the beach...the goggles are the latest craze with the kids:)
This is one reason why the kids love her so much...
Papa with Bryn & Lydia

Saturday night our Summer Link group went to see the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (minor league baseball team) play. It was a fun social. We were thankful to have Papa & Nana there to help with the kids.

Highlights from the Week
We don't have Internet at our place here in Myrtle Beach so I feel a little out of touch with the rest of the world and I don't get to check email and all that but about once a week. To check email I have to take the laptop over to the convention center and right now the girls are running around while I frantically do my "stuff" on the computer. So if I'm slow to return email you know why. So I'll hope to blog weekly and just give quick highlights of the week.
Every Tuesday night our group has a Celebration where we eat a meal together and then sing, connect and hear God's Word taught.
Every Thursday night is Men's & Women's night where we hang out and discuss differing topics in our gender groups. Last Thursday we painted our nails together before talking about marriage.
Last Thursday Cayce and Reese drove down for a 3 night visit. We had a great time together. I'm so thankful they came and were able to see Summer Link and our life here in Myrtle Beach. We had a sweet time together.
The kids at the water park...greased up and ready to go!

Jeremy took the little girls home to bed so Cayce and I took Carson & Reese to play putt-putt, it was so fun!
Every Saturday evening our whole group does a planned social together. This past Saturday we all went to Murrells Inlet and had dinner together and then walked around the pier. It was a fun evening.

Summer LINK Myrtle Beach
On May 23rd we headed to Myrtle Beach to live for a month and half to head up the Myrtle Beach Summer LINK group. We are in Myrtle Beach to help Cornerstone Church in Carolina Forest (just west of central Myrtle Beach). The college students (about 20) all get jobs during the day and then in the evenings we have various activities (weekly meeting, discipleship, bible study...etc.). We are excited about being a part of and serving alongside Cornerstone Church this summer and living in community with the students and staff here. It's a great group! It's a unique time for our family to live here and serve in this way. We are still adjusting but doing well. Here are some pictures from our first couple weeks.
Our great staff team!
There is a 1 foot deep Children's Activity Pool on the property. Such a blessing to our family!
Mom came down that first week to help us get adjusted and settled. She is always a big help and joy to have with us!

Saturday nights are typically our nights for socials to bond as a group. Last night we went to play TACKY putt-putt. It was a hoot seeing everyone dressed up. We decided not to spend any money on our outfits but just try to be tacky with what we owned. Here is the result! Scary....

Clemson Friends Reunion 2010
This past Memorial Day weekend we had our 10th annual friends reunion and it was a blast! These college friendships get sweeter and sweeter over the years and we are so thankful for them! I am thankful that we have all things in common through Jesus and that we can get together for a long weekend and enjoy one another. This year we planned and hosted at mom and dad's lake cottage on Lake Gaston. We are so thankful for their generosity in letting us use the house. It was perfect!
We did lots of lounging on the dock

Susan & baby Lily (she was our only baby and she was amazing!)
We take turns cooking throughout the weekend and we ate good!

We ate dinner on the deck every night, it was so nice to just linger after eating...we are all parents so we really appreciate this!!!!

Wes, Adam, Jeremy & Jason went fishing our last morning there and came back with some nice fish!
