Home for Christmas

We really enjoyed being home for Christmas this year!

Jeremy and I enjoyed filling stockings, putting toys together, watching a Christmas movie, and being together Christmas Eve.

I love Christmas morning and seeing the excitement and anticipation on the faces of our kids! I was so thankful for Jeremy's leadership in "prepping" the kids before running out to their stockings. He prayed and reminded us all of the meaning of Christmas and to treasure Christ above all!

After stockings we ate breakfast together and read the Christmas story, sang, and put baby Jesus in our nativity set.

And then we gathered in the family room again to exchange gifts we had bought each other. I especially enjoyed watching the kids give their gifts to each other.

One of the biggest surprises for the kids this year was a hamster! They had asked for this for Christmas but we consistently told them we wouldn't be able to get one…..so it was SO fun to surprise them with this after opening all the other gifts.

Meet Chewie (short for Chewbacca for all you non-Star Wars fans):

They were so excited and loved holding him and watching him!

After a nice slow day at home we enjoyed eating Christmas dinner in our dining room. I love my family so much and am thankful for a sweet Christmas 2015!

Christmas with the Chasteens

We had a great time celebrating Christmas with the Chasteen side of the family! So thankful for time together!

Here is everybody with Papa Simmons on Christmas Eve at his assisted living location. Jeremy is wearing Papa Simmons old Christmas suit (felt the need to share that!)

We had a yummy steak dinner at the Elliott's house one night.

We all went to gravitopia one day.

Hopefully these videos work. Some funny slow motion videos from gravitopia:

Chasteen Christmas

We stayed a couple nights with Papa & Nana on our way back home to celebrate Christmas and see family.  We were especially thankful to get time with our new niece Zoe.  She is super cute and fits right in!  Thankful for our time with family!

Amy had a connection with someone who offered to take family pictures for us at their house.  Thankful for these pictures!  It was crazy, as you can imagine, trying to get everyone to "cooperate."
 The whole gang!
 The whole crew again!

Jon (Jeremy's brother) & Leigh with their kids

Allyson (Jeremy's sister) & Kevin and their kids
Papa & Nana with all their grandkids

Then Amy treated all her nieces and nephews to gravitopia!

Christmas at the Lake

We are so thankful for a great time with family at the lake celebrating the birth of Christ Jesus together!  Thank you mom and dad for hosting us!  Here is the whole gang!

We enjoyed oysters on the half shell on Christmas day and playing corn hole!

So thankful for family and time together!
