Pictures, Prayer & Praise

Every Sunday night on Summer LINK is Prayer & Praise where the group meets on the beach to have a time of encouragement through the reading of God's Word, testimonies, sharing with one another the things God has been doing among them, singing, and praying together. The kids and I haven't been able to go every week because it is late and the kids can be a little distracting (shocking, I know) but this past Sunday night we had our group picture before Prayer & Praise so we joined the group for the evening.

Our staff team

Staff girls

I have had the joy and honor to disciple Meredyth and Tara this summer. They are both such precious women and I have loved every minute I've had with them this summer. Thankfully they will both be in Clemson this next year!

Brandy shared how she came to know the Lord with the group. I so enjoyed hearing again how God brought her to Himself. I'm so thankful He did!!!!

Bluff Fest

Saturday evening was Bluff Fest which is a festival event in the town of Bluffton and our Summer LINK group helps serve at this event. It was a HOT day....I mean it was hard not to lust after any shady spot...that hot! But the kids of course loved it. Here are a few pics of our time there Saturday afternoon.

Natalee and April were serving at the Crosspoint Bluffton tent painting faces.

They had multiple bouncy/slide type blow up things for the kids.
Heath was in town for the weekend. Our kids love Heath (he is in our college small group in Clemson) and it was fun to see him over the weekend.

My friend

Last Saturday one of my dearest friends, Kristen, came for a visit on her way through town. Kristen and I go back 13 years to my freshmen year at Clemson. She became to me like a big sister in the Lord and God has continued to knit our hearts together in a sweet friendship. She is one of those friends where you just pick up right where you left off and there is such freedom to be yourself and live life together. I am so thankful for her and how she has continued to pursue me and make an effort to stay connected. I so wish we had more time to spend together but I'm thankful for times like this. Thank you Kristen for making the effort to stop in so we could hang out face to face. I love you!

Bikes

One of our goals before leaving Hilton Head was to rent some bikes as a family to ride around the island. I've been so thankful not to be pregnant this summer so that I could do more physical things that I was unable to do last summer. We decided to get a babysitter for Lydia so she could nap and we took Carson and Bryn to rent bikes. Carson and I rode the double bike and Bryn sat in the baby seat behind Jeremy. We had a great time and it was a good work out too!

We rode down to the Sea Pines entrance and saw Jason Elvington at work. He is one of the students on Summer LINK this summer and he will be taking the student director position when the staff leave next week.

One of the highlights of our bike adventure was seeing an alligator!

Intently looking at the alligator

It's amazing how they really do blend in and look just like a log in the water.

Coligny Fun

We enjoyed a fun outing as a family to Coligny Plaza which is like the town center in Hilton Head. It has fun little shops and restaurants and live music at a little stage with benches. We walked around, got some ice cream, and enjoyed the music.

They brought the kids up front to help with the music. Carson and Bryn loved it!

Another beach day

We had a fun beach morning this week and I enjoyed taking some pictures of the kiddos.

Staff Girls Lunch

One of my highlights during the week here is going to lunch with the staff girls! I love having this time with these women to connect and go deeper. They spur me on and it is a joy to be a part of their lives. This week we went to a Japanese restaurant and had sushi. It was so good!

Happy Father's Day

I am so thankful for my hubby! He is a great husband and father and we are blessed because of him! We went to church this morning and then out to lunch with the Gainors and then hit the pool and beach after nap time. It was a good day! We love you Daddy!!!!!

Savannah

Saturday evening our whole group went to Savannah, GA and had dinner at a nice restaurant. I have to say I'm thankful this wasn't my first time to Savannah because we were at this one restaurant the whole time and by the end of the meal our kids were slowly becoming the entertainment to the people around us...not good! I'm so glad we could go with the group even though we would have never taken our kids to a restaurant this nice. All in all they did pretty good and it was fun.

We parked across the river and rode the ferry over to Savannah.

Lydia was a little nervous on the ferry with all the loud noises

Saturday was Tara's official birthday!
