Daddy Daughter Date

A week ago Friday Jeremy took Bryn out on a date.  They got all dressed up and went out to eat and then to a dance with all the college students up at the church (yes, we have dances at our church....another reason I love Crosspoint Church).  She was so excited about her date with Daddy and they had a sweet time together.  I love that our girls' first dates will be with their Dad!

....and their first kiss;)

Here are just a few things we've been up to lately...

Carson and his buddies...a boy play date!

a few tempter tantrums as someone approaches age 2
Fun times in the nursery with the Jones twins
Popcorn snack

I got my hair chopped...and love it!
a failed group picture of some of our college friends & kids that came for a weekend.  We had 5 families and 18 kids!  It was crazy fun!  I regret not taking more pictures!  We had bonfires and dads & sons camped out.  We missed the families that couldn't be here!

Halloween & Mom's visit

Mom came down for a visit on Halloween for a few days.  We had a lovely visit and enjoyed having her with us!  We did our usual downtown trick-or-treating and the kids enjoyed that.  Lydia was Dora, Bryn was a ballerina, Spencer was a bee, and Carson was a baseball player.

There was a pumpkin decorating contest downtown that the kids enjoyed...

...and Bryn received 3rd place for her pumpkin!!!
Mom and I went out to a fun new restaurant together one night.  I love my Momma!!!!
On our last day with Mom we headed to an apple orchard and to Hendersonville...just us girls!  Thanks for coming to visit Mom!  We love you!

Here's to my Manly Man

Jeremy caught this 26 pound catfish off the dock.  What a stud!

When we arrived back home after our Virginia trip we were welcomed by this ugly guy living in our garage.  That caused some serious adventure!
P.S.....this video is "raw"

Mount Vernon

While we were in the Washington DC area for the funeral we decided to take advantage of a field trip to George Washington's Mount Vernon.  Mom and Dad were gracious to watch my sister's twin babies and Spencer so that the rest of us could go.  It was fun to go visit especially since we've been studying American History this year in school.  My brother and Josh also joined us which was fun.  Michael is such a history buff so he gave the kids a good tour and shared interesting facts about Mount Vernon.  It was a beautiful day and fun outing.

Arlington

In October we all gathered at Arlington Cemetery to celebrate and remember the lives of Robert and Eleanor Misner (better known as Grandpa and Raggie).  This was the first time I'd seen a service at Arlington and it was very powerful.  We were all in awe and overwhelmed with emotion.  Because of Grandpa's service during World War II he was given very high honors for his military service at this funeral.  It was amazing that all this was done for Grandpa and Raggie.  As my mom said, "Dad would have been so embarrassed by all this."  He was such a humble servant!  But we all knew what a hero he was and it was right to see his life honored this way.  And Raggie was just as much a hero as Grandpa.  What a team they were!  Here are some pictures and videos.

This pictures says a lot to me.....the innocence of youthfulness with the backdrop of the reality of death and somberness.

I miss them so!
