Clemson Friends Reunion 2016 - Galivants Ferry, SC

Over Memorial Day weekend we gathered in Galivants Ferry for our annual Clemson friends reunion with 5 other couples.  It was so fun to laugh, connect, play, and eat together over the weekend. These friendship are such a gift and they become sweeter the older we get.

Big thanks to Matt and Jill for hosting and planning this year. We had a great time!  Love you all!

We enjoyed the country life! Boys did lots of fishing in the pond, we played lots of corn hole, a fun group volleyball game, card games, and great meals together!

We went in to Pawleys Island one day for a yummy lunch and walked on the beach. Always good to see the ocean!

So thankful for these friends!

Black Mountain Glink Week

On May 22 - 26 we headed to Black Mountain, NC for the Generation Link week.  We stayed at the YMCA Blueridge Assembly again this year and had a great time with Glink area directors, current and incoming Glink residents, and Summer Link leaders.  This is a big week for Jeremy and I couldn't be prouder of him and how the Lord continues to use him!

It's so exciting to partner with all the different locations and see students sent out to take the gospel to these different cities!

It's such a blessing for the kids and I to join Jeremy and others in this ministry. We love this time with people!

Kids with Papa & Nana

During the month of May the kids got to go with Papa & Nana to Dollywood and they had a ball! So thankful for my in-laws and their intentional love and pursuit of our kids. Thank you for loving them and spoiling blessing them with this great time in Dollywood!

My Nephew Henry

On Thursday, May 12th I received one of the saddest phone calls. My mom called in tears to tell me that our Henry had just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. All we could do was cry!

I immediately called my sister who was on her way to the hospital and all we could do was cry!

Because I have a dear friend with this terrible disease I've seen the reality of living with type 1 diabetes. It's a terrible awful disease and not a good diagnosis for my 4 year old nephew.

These are the times I wish I lived down the street from family! Thankfully, because of God's grace and providence and because I have an amazing husband, I was able to drive up to Virginia the next day and stay for 5 nights to be with my sister and her family as they began to adjust to this new reality.

I cried off and on all the way up I-85!

Although it wasn't a trip planned around fun and celebratory events, I am so thankful I got to be there! I will treasure those days with my sister and her family forever.

Please pray for Henry, my sister and her husband as they continue to adjust to life caring for a diabetic child. They've learned so much already in this first month and I'm so proud of them! This is a game changer and there are many emotions and reasons to fear. Pray that God would show Himself strong and sufficient as they care for Henry and continue to learn how to care for him well.  They've already seen God do amazing things to care for them!

Last Day of Co-Op

May 10th was Showcase Day for our Homeschool Co-op and it wrapped up a significant season for us. This co-op was started with a few families and we quickly grew to over 25 families in just a few years. This past year I co-directed the co-op with my dear friend, Jill. We learned SO much in this experience. There are many sweet memories and I'm so grateful for this group of families and all the experiences that have enriched our lives because of it.

We are transitioning from a true co-op to a support group and I'm very excited about this change! My role began to feel more like a part time job and as much as we loved the co-op it was time for change.  I so desperately desire for my best efforts and energies to first go towards my family and home and what the Lord has called me to there.  We look forward to many more memories with these families in our support group model and are hopeful for new families to join in!

Mother's Day

I was thankful to reunite at home with Jeremy after being apart. We enjoyed a nice Mother's Day at church and then went on a couple different hikes.

I'm so thankful for my family! God has been so good to me in blessing me with a great husband and four amazing kids that I adore!

We first went on a hike to Pigpen Falls and Licklog Falls and Carson and Jeremy brought their fishing rods to do some trout fishing. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed being together outside.

We love exploring the waterfalls and trails in our area! So blessed to live this close to beautiful and free fun!

Spencer is a piece of work!

We then headed to Burnt Tanyard Shoals to swim which was really fun!

Lake Time

After College Leadership Retreat in Oak Island the kids and I headed to the lake to see my family and enjoy a few days of lake time! Jeremy stayed in Oak Island for the Staff Retreat.

It's always a great time at the lake! So thankful for this place and time with my parents!

Oak Island College Leadership Retreat

Each year our summer is kicked off with the College Leadership Retreat in early May. We work hard to be done with school at this point as our travels pick up. We love this time with the college students and it's always a highlight of our summer! We went to the same house in Oak Island again this year. On the way there we stopped for lunch on Lake Murray in Irmo. It's a fun spot at a marina close to the interstate.

The first night at the house is just the staff so we went out to dinner and walked on a pier. While on the pier a man let Bryn reel in his catch!

We love that the house is right on the beach. The kids and I typically hang in the meeting for the devotional and singing and while the students have their morning meeting we hit the beach. So thankful for this time on the beach with my kids!

This group is so great! I really enjoyed getting to know many of them much better and it gets me excited about college ministry this year!

The group works on a lot of celebrating, dreaming, and evaluating! They also work on the detailed plans for college ministry for the first week back in August.

But it's also filled with lots of fun….beach time, volleyball, baseball on the beach, cards, games, dance parties, and much more!

Long Shoals

One day after co-op in April Jill and I took our kids on a hike and ended up at Long Shoals (sliding rock). It's so fun! Don't miss the video (taken by Madeline) of Jill and I braving the slide!

Family Hike

We took a fun family hike to Station Cove Falls one Saturday in April and had a great time. It's a beautiful and easy hike with a nice waterfall at the end.

Carson wasn't with us because he was at Carrowinds with some families & kids from church for the day. Here is a picture Jason sent us.
