Generation Link Retreat

This past week we spent 3 nights in Gatlinburg with all the Generation Link staff for the mid-year retreat.  This is always such a highlight!  One of the main objectives for this time is to share ministry and personal updates.  After each person shares the rest of the group speaks words of encouragement into that persons life.  It's so beautiful and such a rich time of community.  I really love this group and enjoyed getting to know them better.

It's also a highlight to see Jeremy lead and see him in his element.  I miss getting to watch him lead and serve in his gifts (like I did before having kids) so I thoroughly enjoy that at this retreat.

It's also a highlight for me to see them love on our kids.  I find myself dreaming down the road (which I rarely do...I'm a here and now kinda girl) about our kids growing up in this environment.  They are so used to being around college students and Glink staff.  I love that it's people like this our kids will look up to and be influenced by.  It's such a gift.  I dream about the day when all our kids can sit around the room and participate in the share time and encouragement.  What a joy it is to serve the Lord in this capacity!  My children will be blessed as well.  Thank you Jesus!

One afternoon we all went up to Ober Gatlinburg for some fun team bonding.  Some ice skated, some did the alpine slide and others (like me this year) just hung out and watched.  This is how amazing they are....they helped Bryn and Lydia ice skate....for a really long time!  I'm SO thankful and blessed by that!  So cute!

This is the whole group outside the Apple Barn.
We played a lot of hand and foot!  I've created some addicts:)  I LOVE it!

These 2 hijacked my ipod and took a picture of themselves and made it my wallpaper!  Stinkers!
Some of the guys grilling steaks.  Such a great retreat!  So thankful!

Welcome Home Amy!

On Sunday the 16th Amy flew home and we all greeted her at the airport in Charlotte.  It was so fun being there to welcome her home for her 3 week visit!  She is so dearly missed my family and friends.  We've already enjoyed good time with Amy and we're looking forward to more time together this week!  Here are pictures from the airport and her first night home.

This was also Kolson's 8th birthday so we celebrated that night at Papa & Nana's house.

Matt & Tara stopped by on their way through town.  It was good to see them and see Amy meet baby Andrew for the first time.  We love you Amy!

Lately...

Bryn discovered her first loose tooth after Thanksgiving and then lost it shortly after.

We went to Papa & Nana's church to see the Twin Living Christmas Trees show.  Scarlet sang in the choir.  We enjoyed the show!

Dance Recital

Last Saturday the girls had a dance recital taught by Ashley Jones.  They were blessed to have all 4 of their grandparents be there to watch them twirl on stage!  They were so cute!  Ashley did such a good job teaching the little girls and pulling off a legit dance recital.

A Very Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great time at the lake for Thanksgiving.  It was good to be with family and relax.  Jeremy and Dad enjoyed hunting as usual.  I enjoyed cooking with mom!  So thankful for my family!

I love my parents!
