Truly one of the most amazing messages I've listened to. The message is by Ligon Duncan at the T4G (Together for the Gospel) Conference. You would be encouraged to go listen to it.

Hating Sin
This quote is from Secret Church study guide:
"The awareness of sin, a deep awareness of disobedience, and painful confession of sin used to be our shadow. Christians hated sin. They feared it, they fled from it, they grieved over it. Some of our [forefathers] agonized over their sins. A man who lost his temper might wonder if he could still go to holy communion. A woman who for years envied her more attractive and intelligent sister might wonder if this sin threatened her very salvation.... That shadow has dimmed. Nowadays the accusation, 'You have sinned,' is often said with a grin and with a tone that signals an inside joke. At one time this accusation still had the power to jolt people." - Cornelius Plantinga
Oh Father, cause us to hate sin and be broken over it! And then may we find you forgiving us with your abundant love and grace.
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." -Psalm 51:17
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." -1 John 1:9

The Bobcat
Since December 2007 we have heard the sound of a bobcat off and on around the woods of our house. It's an eerie sound, like a loud screech or a bunch of babies crying. The bobcat was actually my very first post on this blog.
Well, tonight around 9:30 Jeremy and I were sitting on the couch talking and all of a sudden we heard the bobcat and it was the loudest we have ever heard it! We stopped and listened to know which direction of the house it was coming from. After realizing it was coming from the front of our house, we tiptoed to the front door and Jeremy flipped our outside lights on and we flung the door open and ran to the front porch and looked towards the sound....and WE SAW THE BOBCAT!!!!!! I never thought this would happen! I could not believe my eyes! It was SO loud! He was right off the corner of our house in the grass!!!! Not only did we see the bobcat but the bobcat and our cat Tiger were having a face-off! I thought we were about to see the death of our cat! They were about 5 feet from each other and that bobcat was not happy and acting VERY aggressive towards Tiger. Then the motion light went off and Tiger ran to the front porch and I made him come in. Wow, our hearts are still racing. I had to call my parents and tell them of the adventure since they have followed the bobcat saga over the years. Amazing! I'm still just amazed that we saw him with our own eyes in our front yard after first hearing him over 4 years ago! Won't be forgetting this night any time soon....
